Rockhold, 32, defeated David Branch in the second-round of Saturday’s main event. It was Rockhold’s first victory since Dec. 2015, when he defeated Chris Weidman to claim the Middleweight Championship.

With a chance to solidify his comeback and stake his claim in the title picture, Rockhold chose not to call out middleweight champion Michael Bisping or interim champion Robert Whittaker in his post-fight interview.

Instead, Rockhold decided to send a message to Georges St-Pierre.

Rockhold has been extremely outspoken since St-Pierre was granted a title shot against Bisping at UFC 217 in New York City. He’s gone on record to call St-Pierre a ‘joke’ and has reiterated that St-Pierre will back out of the fight.

“Truthfully, GSP is overmatched,” Rockhold said in a backstage interview with the UFC. “He’s going to get stopped. He’s going to get outboxed. He’s too small, he can’t just wrestle. GSP is going to get crushed. Mark my words.”

St-Pierre and Bisping were originally set to face off in July but the fight was pushed back later in the year due to St-Pierre’s concern about being ready after a four-year absence. St-Pierre’s arrival delays Rockhold’s hope of a ‘Trilogy Fight’ with Bisping.

The California native has split the two previous fights with Bisping. Most recently, the 38-year-old Bisping won the Middleweight Championship from Rockhold last June.
