Moore alleges that police officers approached him and pulled guns, tried to unzip his pants to search for a weapon he did not have, and took his phone away so Moore couldn’t take video of the encounter. Moore’s statement said that the incident ended when he told the officers he is an LSU football player. Both the LSU and Baton Rouge Police Departments are investigating the incident, according to The Advocate.
The tweet in which Moore detailed the incident is below, along with a written out version of his statement.
Certain details surrounding the incident, including where it took place and which police department was involved, are at this point unclear.

LSU coach Ed Orgeron released a statement Sunday saying that he was “aware of the serious statements.”
“While I cannot comment on the investigation, what I can say is that we must work collectively to embrace our differences,” Orgeron wrote. “We have to listen, learn and come together to combat social injustice and racism if we are to create a safer and more equitable society for all people.”
LSU’s football team has been involved in on-campus protests against racial injustice. In late August, players organized a march through campus, according to The Advocate, and in September they participated in an athletic department march wearing “Tigers United” T-shirts.
Moore, a freshman at LSU, has appeared in all five games of the Tigers’ 2-3 start to the season. He’s recorded eight catches for 70 yards.
